Before you flame me, I have looked all over this forum and the interwebs for anything that could help me with this with zero results.

You gotta be kiddin me... I have searched and searched and cannot find any info on downgrading my Phat 3.30 PSP to 1.50 or to upgrade to a custom version.

Everything I have found has dates from almost 2 years ago.

Is it STILL not possible? after 2 years I'd figure they would be able to come up with SOMETHING.

I just want to put custom firmware on this thing.

Can anyone help me?

You have 2 options...

1st option: is using the LUMINES game exploit downgrader to downgrade to 1.50. HERE is a guide for you to follow. Refer to the -3.10 - 3.50 Any Motherboard section. After you downgrade to 1.50 use this guide HERE to update to 3.52 M33 or higher CFW.

2nd Option: Use a Magic memory Stick + Pandora Battery to install CFW to to the PSP. HERE is a guide for you to follow for this option.

Thanks Larrylje. I'm glad you replied. I was beginning to think I was the only one who ever had a PSP with version 3.30 from a year ago and that it was hopeless.

With the two options you gave me I am leaning towards the Lumines option because I dont want and extra hardware. If I follow the lumine instructions to the letter and all works out ok, then I should be able to update me PSP to 3.71 M33 without having to have any additional hardware or UMD's, correct?

Yes that is correct if you use the first method all you need is the Lumines game. Then after you downgrade to 1.50 use the other link I provided to update to custom firmware.

But you might want to think about buying a Datel Tool Battery and use the second method. It is a safer route to go. Plus if you brick the PSP after installing custom firmware you will still have the battery to recover it using the second method again.

So in a way it is a nice safe guard to have.
