hitachi 0079fl flashing help.

ok i have a 360 with a hitachi 79fl drive. i can get it into mode b with slax 2.1. vista can see and read from it. i run the audio file 2 times the second time i play/pause it. then i go to 79 unlock run the command to unlock and come back with errors. any reason why it would be giving me errors? i read on some thread that its ok to have errors and procede with toolbox 4.8. so i did and i can not raw dump anything. any help would be greatfull. i am so frustrated that i might take it back tonight.

Do you have a game or dvd movie inside the drive when you open up firmware toolbox when you go to dump the firmware?

I know I've gotten errors with 79unlock if I wait too long after the cd plays the first time. Try pausing the track and hitting eject on the 360 as soon as it starts playing the 2nd time and see if that gets it done.

i finally got it to work. i didnt know i needed to have xp pro 32 not 64. sucks but hey i got it all up and running. thanks for your help.
