Hi everyone now I read Like 100000 posts and I cant seem to find anyone who really talks about my problem so ima post one up and hope someone can help me now Iv got a samsung sh-d163b kreon dvd drive off of ebay u know the one that reads xbox 360 games now it seems that its already been flashed with the custom firmware bc when I try to flash it with sfdnwinI get this message saying this firmware is not compatible with the selected drive. Contact your sysem manufacturer for informationmon firmware updates. So I thought it was already flashed so so I cheek it in the dvd drive and it says the game is only 5 gigs well I already know thats wasnt it so I load up xbox backup creator and I get this at the bottom were the text information is it says its in there and its 7g so i know it reads it but the start button is grayed out and it says next to it that this is not a true 1 to 1 copy of the image and when i go to drive tools the unlock drive is grayed out and when I click on security sectors it failed so I said that program dosent work so I tryed image burn and it only starts ripping up to 2% then stops same thhin with dvd decriptor and clone cd and all the other ripping programs I have but when I used Schtrom360 xtract I get another funny message it tells me can't get image from drive! It is a kreon compatible drive, but don't seem to be flashed with the right firmware! Drive is used as a normal dvd-rom! so that kinda threw me off tack bc if its not flashed with the custom firmware then why wont it let me flash it so im like really lost iv been trying to get this to work for like 2 days now and i see videos on youtube and everyone seems to get it to work but me so if anyone out there knows what im doing wrong of if i missed somthing plz help me out thanks.

I'd flash it with the Kreon Fw myself if I were you. Then you'd know for a fact it is flashed. Then trouble shoot your problem. I'd also make it a master drive if you haven't already.

Well I tryed to flash it and it keeps saying the firmware is not compatible with the seleted drive and how do u make it the master drive its a sata hook up

Only thing i can say is make sure you're trying to flash the right firmware.

It wont let me flash it tho thats the thing it says its not the right drive so i think its already been flashed with the kreon firmware

hey man, you're not the only one. i am havin the EXACT same problem as you, and it is frustrating the hell outta me. i just finished reading the readme file for xbox backup creator, and it mentions support for the A & C versions of our drive being added, but B isnt mentioned at all for some reason...

nevermind, talking to myself here, found xbc8, found kreon's firmware update on xbins, tried flashing, same problem....

try getting the original firmware from samsung. Restoring the drive to its original state, and then you should be able to install the kreon SB01 v1.0 firmware.
did this late last night.
