hi

I got a mod xbox 360 and would like to go online to update to the new dashboard to get the install your game into the harddrive fuction. Could I use a friend gold member to go online and install this new dashboard into my mod xbox 360? Would mircosoft ban me when I go online with a mod xbox to do this update? If yes, would the ban affect my friend gold membership even thur it not his xbox but mine? If I get ban would that mean his gold membership is gone? Also, would this update affect my mod xbox in any way?

you don't need any membership to go online and get the update... just connect the XBOX to the internet and hit recover gamertag ... you will be forced to update the console even before you have to enter any information.

as to how safe it is and whether your XBOX will be banned that is another story ... and there is a whole long multi-page thread discussing those aspects...

I got it update and the new dashboard look cool. No problem with my mod xbox 360 so far.
