i have an xbox that displays no video. The xbox loads like it normally does with the green lights that blink and i hear the dash loading. One thing though, a liquid... (cough.. everclear.. cough) was spilt on the xbox before this happened. Now i understand thats the reason why this is occurring, so i took it completely apart the next day when it was dry(after i got the error when the xbox was dry). I found nothing out of the ordinary, all the solder looked intact. Maybe did i miss something? or can someone help me out and tell me something to look for? Thanks lot
I've fixed a couple of boxes like this including the one I'm playing on currently.
Either it's no video but you and hear the audio or it's no video/audio or black screen at all.
I've been able to fix these with the x-clamp replacement and cooling mods. Specifically it's the part of the replacement where you allow the mobo to get hot, yes even if you don't have three red rings.
The additional part that keeps the problem from coming back, thus far, is that I take a stack of about 11 pennies held together with electrical tape. Then I tape it down to the mobo on top of the ana/hana chip below the dvd drive. Once the case is back together the dvd drive pushes down on the stack of pennies and in turn the chip down on motherboard.
I had a 360 i fixed that had the same symptons, no video but you could hear the audio?? I restored the video by cleaning the component video port with rubbing alcohol, toothpicks, and also Q-tips, the 360 is running great now.. To my surprise the video port on the 360 was filled with dirt and other junk that just built up over time, sound crazy enough for you!!lol
