Hi,

I just bought a Wiikey 2 presoldered onto a wii-clip. I placed it on my GC2-DMS chip following the instructions from wii-clip.com. When I start up my wii, the modchip flashes red-blue-red-blue and when I try to place any disc into the drive, it won't pull it in at all. When I pull off the clip, the drive works like normal.

I heard that one of the wires on back of the clip could be bent so I checked it with a magnifying glass but there wasn't any.

From the place I bought it from, modchip.ca, mentioned something about the traces C, D, E on the DMS chip should be cut like the later models D2C. Would that make a difference? Is there a way avoiding cutting things on my wii?

Can you take a picture of the Modchip and WiiClip (solder part up).

You need to make sure they didn't make a mistake and pre-soldered it for a D2C/D2E chipset instead of DMS.

As for the cut pins they are probably talking about some D2B chipsets had cut pins on the drive chipset. DMS drives did not have these pins cut so it shouldn't make a difference.
