Flashed 360 Finally Red Ringed

Alright, judgment day has come for my 360. My first gen 360 which has been flashed for awhile finally got 3 red rings. I'm not overly computer savvy when it comes to modding hardware (I did flash the 360 myself though) and I'm looking for what options I have. I have some options and I have some questions about each hopefully someone can answer.

-Send it to MS and have them fix it for 100 bucks (since the warranty is void).
Q: Does it matter that my drive has been flashed? I'm sure with money in their eyes, MS wouldn't mind repairing it even if it was flashed. My question is, has anyone sent in a flashed 360 and recieve their drive back still flashed? I've heard some people had Lite-Ons in their 360 after it was returned.

-Try to fix it myself.
Q: There are plenty of guides on how to repair the 3 RROD problem (I read enough about it), but I'm wondering if anyone here has successfully repaired their 360 using one of the guides. How hard was it to fix? Are there any VIDEO guides on how to do this?

-Send it to a third party repair service.
Q: I've seen some places on the web that offer to repair 360s for a price. Just wondering if anyone has had any experiences with this.

Dont waste your money, there are plenty of guides on you tube and the net in general. I fixed mine but didnt use it much after cause the eye was having trouble with some games, but now with being able to run games from hard drive im resurecting it again. Good Luck.
