Which DVD drives come in xbox 360 Arcade version?

just wondering who here has bought a recent 360 arcade version. and what dvd drive you got with it! or is it all random?

bought 3 at different stores that wasnt gamestop and got all three lite-on drives. Got a pro at costco and was a liteon drive. My friend got the last elite in stock and it was a BenQ.

people dont like the lite-on why is that? i hear they are very common....can they not be flashed or chipped?

people don't like it because it can't be flashed/chipped....the only existing method(until now) is that you spoof your LiteOn Key into another drive such as Benq (this method i think is more expensive than flashing and more complicated) but with time the lite-on will/can be "flashable"

Yes, the only real problem with them is they are not flash/chip able, there really not much wrong with it. I guess i could say they are quite loud unlike the BenQ, but i think most are the same loudness. The key could be read and put on a different drive and BenQ is preferred for Liteon replacement because of Microsoft banning. It is also more complicated and cost around 130$ to get a drive and the connectivity kit and stuf

i dont buy that ... people who have examined the hardware say the firmware is on a read-only ROM... which was done intentionally so people could never flash it.

the only thing they are working on improving is the ease with which the key can be extracted and spoofed onto another drive...

oh well at least they found a solution for the lite-on drive(and by that i mean spoofing your LiteOn Key into another drive).....i think it's a good thing that they are focusing on making the existing method easier(and i thank the ones who developed this method....as i will buy a 360 for christmas ,yay,probably with a lite-on drive as the vast majority of the consoles).

The older ones have Hitachi, mine form 5 months ago has a benq the new ones have lite-ons
