ok so after i bootup with iprep i run dsam 1234567 12345 and then plug in sata cable and then get it going through all 4 banks, and says rebot pc now! but then gives error

"An internal stack overflow has caused this session to be halted. Change the STACKS setting in your config.sys file, and then try again."

and from both the pdf guide and video guide i been using should go to a screen that says sucsess in green text with a bunch of other info. but just gives that error right as soon as it finshes with 4 banks. anyone know WTF this is! feel like im gonna pull out my hair soon getting so angry.

i recommanded this on another thread so this is a cut and paste :)

Quote:
try the new iprep v0008 beta
once in the dos screen
turn on the benq
type dosflash
it will ask you to send the magic28 packet say yes (or y)
then select the drive from the list

it will ask if you want to read or write or erase

from there its self explanitry (just spoofed a mates drive using it to read and write, man they have got easier :) )

good luck chap
i havent tried it with a sammy but the new ipreb has a sammy insert firmware section in its setup so i would assume the process will be the same (give it a try and please reply here if it works ok, i got a sammy to flash on friday lol)
just renember theres no little helpful tips when you run the flashdrive but typing dosflash works all the other commands needed it prompts you for, flashing with the new iprep is so much easier now :)

good luck chap

Have you been successful on flashing with that same PC before? I had this issue on a PC I had never used before and no matter what I tried I kept getting that same error. As soon as I tried doing it from a different PC it worked perfectly.

so how do i use iprep beta pro 008? i made the botable disk but doesnt boot up into iprep like the other version i had. i typed dir in dos prompt and was some .exe i could run but dont want to run wrong one a mess up my box.

also tried iprep on another computer and i didnt get same error but it still just hung up and part where it says Please rebot computer now! and now when i try it on mine it gets there too and hangs up. i let it sit there for like 20 mins and still didnt move on to next screen where it should say sucsess in green text.

...*sigh*...kill me...please...

Are you trying to to flash a Liteon?

read the sticker on the drive. f it looks like benq just from the tray or casing, look closer at the lable and the liteon does not have vad on it.

Why are you trying to flash a benq, but acording to the iprep program, you are loading a samsung firmware into the samsung firmware section?

no pretty sure its a samsung. looks just like a samsung drive. i dont have the sticker on the drvie. the previous owner removed it and to make his case mod look better. so i dont even know if its a ms25 or ms28 but i am positive its a samsung.

Sorry this is a old thread to reply to but I just had this same stacks overflow problem. I was trying to read a Samsung with DosFlash16 and kept getting this problem. I recently moved my SATA card to the other PCI Slot and that was the problem. I moved it back to the top PCI slot and it resolved the issue. Just thought I would post a possible resolution to this problem. I tried sysedit on the IO.SYS file's CONFIG.SYS and manually added the STACKS=0,0 and that still didn't fix the issue.
