Playing a backed up verson of WII MUSIC.

It asks to do a system update telling me that if I have any modchips installed it may not work.

I have a Wii modded with D2C KEY

Will updating stop me playing backups/harm my wii?

Sorry if its a stupid question but Ive seen a lot of conflicting advice over lots of forums.

You should be able to do the update without any problems at all. The update itself only keeps you from installing homebrew, and if you already have homebrew it wont make any changes. I did the update myself and had no problems.

Edit: This is only true if you're trying to play a matching region game on your wii. If you do the download with the game from an opposite region you will brick your wii.
