Noob Needs Help !!! CFW, Updates and popsloaders

I Have CFW 3.71 m33-2 installed onto my PSP but I am still unsure of a few things. My Questions are

1. How can i now update to 3.71 m33-4 or other updates?

2. Some games such as resident evil do not work. I understand that I need a popsloader but all the guides I found are only for other CFW's

3. I want to get a custom cross media bar but i still can't find any good guides on that either.

I'm sorry if I sound like a noob. I know I am. I just want to understand how this works a bit better and play the resident evils they are some of my favorite games :)

for the first question i am pretty sure you can update your psp with the network update to the newest cfw, but just in case try this guide it should help you update to 5.00m33-3.
As for resident evil you probably should install popsloader trythis guide and i am not entirely sure what you mean by custom cross media bar do you mean custom themes because if you want customs themes look up a homebrew app called cxmb
