If I buy a pre-chipped Wii, fitted with a D2Pro to play backups, will Nintendo be able to upgrade the firmware and screw it?
If so, will this only happen I I play online?
Is there a way to disable the feature?
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Can you explain how to brick block as the Wii is a new ball game to me.

There's a program called Brick Blocker that you use to patch your ISOs so they can't update anything.

Also, you could use starfall or Gecko OS to boot a game without having to update.

I am another newbie but think that this a valid question......
I have a wasabi3 chip fitted and play many 'backed up' games (no problems with any)
I now want to play on line. Reading the posts above I gather that this will be ok but should i have burned the ISOs with a brick blocker or do i just take a chance and go for it on line as it may be ok? or do i have to re-burn the games that i want to play on line with a blocker?

You don't have to re-burn the games. Online play is fine and will not brick your Wii. Brickblocker just keeps the disc from updating the wii on discs that have updates on them, i.e. Super Mario Galaxy. --Chikn
