hi to all how do i put the updates on the starview 3 do i need the gt or is it all in the 1 download thanks ps do i turn the box off when am downloading to the box

I'v done a lot of reading and finally something to write about! great news guys lets hope it last i was gutted as i only had my box working for a week or so and then VM killed it, but this is a good day :D

Thats true Creaky, all we were trying to do was to help people point them in the right direction, and then suddenly we were basically mugged!! LOL these people seem to appear overnight claiming to be long time members LOL... who seem to dissapear again until
the next time there provider decideds to do a hit, ....where are they the other 363 days of the year?
As stated earlier any help or guidance we give out on the site is to the best of our knowledge Tried and tested ...and people should take it at face value... and not get smart and try to contradict the regulars!!!

It is all in one (Unified Firmware and Loader). GTRom v8.02
EDIT: eso, if you need any help go to the link marked Starview 2nd line and a guide is there

HI all I found this topic yesterday and have read through most of the SV3 threads buti still have no joy.
I got myself a cable and downloaded a FW which had 30/11/08 it didnt work so then tried another one dated June 08 (it didnt work
so then i have downloaded the latest fix from sacco, I have put it on my sv3
turned it on set to factory setting added 0000. turned on to N*L, done a auto search it only scans DVB-C (a total of 28 channels) and all "failed" i cant even get normal channels scanned?
is there any order i need to be setting stuff in I have also pressed set defualt key and turned emu on? but no joy
my sv3 still wont pick up any channels on scan please help.

It is in Eamo's FTA Library and is definately fully working, just go to Eamo's FTA Library at the bottom of my post and you will find it in The Box Super, then The Box Super UK Fix, it is working fully A/U and if you need a guide then click on the link marked Starview and follow the instructions for flashing and setting up.

Can someone help to tell me what type of box i have it is just a small silver thing about 10inches wide and 2inche high no writing on it at all and it has a flap for a card on the left hand side, it has the remote sensor dead center, if i no what it is then i can get update, please people help.

can you press menu ... then system info and tell us what it says then?

Yes i pressed system info and it says SW Version :7.10
HW Version : 1770x-1.0-CS100-SID
if that is any help,

Malci - I have downloaded the GT Rom file. (30/11/08)
I have followed the instructions on the link on "Updating Firmware for sv 1, 2, 3
However I get to the point where it says:
"Make sure App file only is selected, then click b1n File & browse to the firmw@re where you downloaded it to on your PC".
My bin file is greyed out and do i have to select "channel data file" instead? and if im browsing do i then relselect the GT Rom loader file ?
please explain mate

What are you using to flash because the Starview 3 The Box Super is a Unified Firmware and Loader and you do not have to browse for a bin file, just press download on the GTRom v8.02e in top right corner - and yes App Files Only should be checked.
EDIT Do not check the Data File Box, ignore that, if you have it connected properly then it should go right away.
