I have opened my 360 but not to the point where I can see what version I have because I don't have a Torx Screwdriver. But if i'm unfortunate and get a version 79 drive do I need a chip to flash it or can they be flashed nowadays without chips?

Also what torx screwdrivers do i need to open the 360 screws?

Can be flashed without the chip no problem.

Torx 10 for the cases.

Torx 8 aswell if you ever delve into fixing RROD's etc.
