Only want this FW update to come out to use it with a LiteOn drive and be able to play backups!
Xbox Live sucks because you have to pay for it!
(maybe I'll stick to XLink Kai for online gaming)
Any more news on the 1.5 progress?

Ok, this might be a very newb question, but why do so many people spoof their DVD drives? Are there that many people that have failed xbox360 dvd drives that replace them with OEM ones? Seems like there would be more people excited about a new firmware period (that works on all types of xbox360's) rather than the people that want to spoof a LiteOn or something. What am I missing?

ya the only tidbit i've seen in the channel recently is one of the OP's mentioning that the beta testing didn't even start this weekend as it was planned to...
so to me that indicates it could be slightly longer as I was predicting we'd have it in our hands by next weekend..
but if they haven't started the beta yet ... hrm...

Cool....i don't even use XBL myself and not nescessary for me the 1.5 but hey it comes standard with the lite-on but is for all drives,i'm like you have a benq but also have a lite-on just itching to be flashed :)
to date i would have to say it's the quietest system out the new go pro 60 Gb they run much cooler(even quietr than my elite) as well it's suppose to be the fix all of the dreaded rrod's...believe it when i see it :).I mean i hope the issue has been resolved but MS sure took their time if it is a fix all system now.

i've read the thread but haven't really found a definitive answer... is 1.5 going to be better than 1.4 for older drives or is this update primarily for lite-on drives?
i want to modify a benq for a friend of mine but was wondering if i should wait for 1.5 if it's going to be much better.

it's already been said that 1.5 would be better. Read through. It provides better security for bad angles, etc. look at the list. Some of the features do apply to more than the liteon and benq

the new firmware is going to make cheese? thats fricken amazing. Technology is light years ahead of what I imagined. I can't wait for 1.5 and unlimited cheese!!!!!!!!
On a more serious note, one of the "dudes" involved said the beta did start this weekend. Not on Saturday as people assumed but according to him beta was running last night and today. All the updates on the firware is posted on the net as new info becomes available. Also the guys developing it are accessible. They seemed to freely speak to me last night(at least one of them did anyway). Although the "topic" line has changed and has red text in it that says "Asking for Liteon 1.5 results in an automatic ban"..... I am not trying to be cryptic but as someone said before "you don't go and call the police to tell them where your drug dealer lives, right?"

i had read about the bad angles but i check all of my games through abgx and mulleter anyway. so that one feature doesn't really matter to me.
i was wondering if there were bigger changes than just that.
