what is the difference between the xtractor and spear vs the ck3 and probe? im not looking for a which you think is better as i have seen several say the xtractor and spear. But what is the difference as they are pretty much the same price.

Sorry, but that log isn't fake. You saw you are in the #fw channel? I'm guessing not. Because if you were, you would know that they update the topic of the channel, with the latest logs from c4eva himself. And within those logs is exactly where I got that last quote. ALso, since you are a "frequenter", you should then know that there is more than that one room to get important info like that from.
So your "myth" is debunked, logs are real

Dude, all you have done is come into this thread and be a pain. If you are going to say I'm lying, or logs I'm posting are fake, back up what you're saying. You are single handedly making this thread lose all its value because of your pointless, stupid, invalid arguements.
Go into the #fw channel, and that exact log is linked to. And guess who it is linked by, the developers of the project, who understand the fw.
So unless you are going to call the guys who are developing ixtreme for you wrong, and that they are misleading the ENTIRE community by posting fake logs (which only you would obviously think) then i suggest you just stop your invalid points, and let this get back on topic to help others have a spot for info. Funny, all the major names in the scene believe the log, oh... it's because they were there when c4eva made the statements.

The logs are real. You are doing nothing but speculate that what is stated is 'fake' because you dont think he talks that way? When the 24th comes (assuming testing, etc... goes well), i'm sure you'll change your tune.

just in case some of you didn't know. Caster would be one of the head mods in the #fw channel. Lol, everyone feel pretty graced, because he is a big part of the project and knows what is going on.
So herald, hope you had fun.... kind of funny I was able to bring in one of the head guys to finally end your disinformation.

Yes! ive had my 360 since june or july, it was manufactured the 15th of may and has been waiting ever since to be drive-hacked
so is there a step-by-step guide on how to do this with Xtractor but without Spear?

yes i have brought an xbox 360 arcade and waiting for delivery. i presume it has a lite-on drive.
since i am completely new to xbox 360 custom firmwares, i have been doing reserch on this. i am going to purchase the sata chipset, xecuter connectivity kit lite and xecuter probe.
if anyone has any tips for a beginner such as my self, would be appreciated.

Sorry, but you are going to have to do it the soldering method. The only way you would be able to do it solderless is with the spear. So if you don't like that, you might want to look into getting the spear for your xtractor.

Do we have any additional info (besides the logs) of what 1.5 will specifically be fixing? I've read there has been some issues with the BENQ. A friend of mine has a benq and on some specific games, they just wont load, the 360 will say reading and then go to open tray. Yet i can take the same disc and put it in my benq and it will play fine. I take it these issues will be resolved with 1.5?
Also, what are the security updates that 1.5 will be addressing?

to me that sounds like your friend has an earlier firmware installed, such as 1.3. I've seen alot of games when i checked them tell me that they will only work on 1.4 or higher due to some angle something so maybe he should reflash with 1.4 and try that.

I would definitely find out what version he has, but regardless, definitely update it to 1.5.
1.5 is supposed to fix a lot of the benq reading issues, like posted in the log.

Thank you all for the quick response. We had just flashed 1.41 to his benq, and mine is also running 1.41. So should I try a reflash to orig fw and then back to 1.41 on his? Or is there any other things that I could try. I know he has a fairly new consolse, could laser be dirty? But he hasn't had any other issues. I am burning with xbox back creater, verbatim media, 2.4x or 4x. Sorry to get a little off topic. Once again, thank you for quick response.

soldering, to me, isnt a bad thing at all, its better as far as im concerned..
so if i do the solder method i still use the Xtractor right?
oh, also.. i used to know, but i forgot.. what is the solder method again?

what i meant is that im pretty sure i know what it is, i just want to make sure
as far as i know its just briging 2 points then running wires between some others, but ive forgotten the specifics

if you are soldering, you don't need a spear or probe because... you are already soldered to the board with your rs3232.. but you will need some type of connectivity kit to power the drive

yeah ive also, been trying to find these guides... i used to have a really good one that was step by step in my favorites but it got deleted >.<
yeah, i probably could use the 360 to power it, but when i need the Xtractor to dump the key anyway, then theres no point in not powering it that way
i guess really i just need to find one of those guides/tuts that ISNT solderless

so basically, youre just enabling the lines to read the key from
well thats simple enough, bridge tx and rx (or just tx) and run the prog to get keys from what i understand
i guess im gonna order a Xtractor then and wait for the 24th

well sticks n stones may break my bones.....i have given you reasonably accurate info in past posts i believe,iv'e seen castor and i have seen what he has had to say fw...why is it when i mention a log and that it may be fake i get flamed and yet when others post a log they get a ohhhhh ahhhhh wow !? i have always stated that fw released 24 dec however i have been informed it may come a little earlier,now i put it to you castor ....have you any verification on this ? from the man himself or the team ?
