I can't buy a chip for the 360 seems flashing is so popular and probably better that chips for the 360 are not available lol I have a few questions if someone with experience would answer for me thanks 1 how often do you have to update the drive with new firmware? 2 Can all drive made for the 360 be flashed?

Hi,

1. It's rare to update the firmware, by that I mean if you have extreme 1.4, you'll be fine,(its not like Anti Virus software).

2. No, the only drives that can be flashed are: Samsung, Hitachi and the BenQ, The LiteOn drives can't be flashed at this moment.

I hope this has helped :)

PS2 = Matrix Infinity (Green Dot)
Xbox 360 BenQ = ixtreme 1.6
Xbox 360 Lite On = Not working :(
Kreon SH-D163B = The Best thing out of them all :)

Hi,

Spoofing is when the xbox 360 thinks the drive is a Lite On, when really it could be a Samsung, Hitachi or BenQ, its something to do with the DVD drive key, I've never done it, so I don't know much about it. :)

PS2 = Matrix Infinity (Green Dot)
Xbox 360 BenQ = ixtreme 1.6
Xbox 360 Lite On = Not working :(

1.5 wont be anymore securable than (1.4), so version 1.5 is more anticipated for the Lite-On drives finally having a hacked firmware of its own. All drives except the Lite-On's can be flashed at the moment. But there is some progress being made on the Lite-On being capable of a flash. But at this moment it's not, so only the major drives like Hitachi, Samsungs, and Benqs are able to be flashed.

Cool I have a spare MS28 I had bough for an old 360 I had about a year ago that 360 burned out mainly because of a poor Chip installation I did manage to extract the key from the MS25 and write it to the MS28 but the motherboard was fried so nothing was gonna work can I extract the firmware from my new Benq and write if to the MS28? Or would I have to delete the firmware from the MS28 first?
