Ok, I have a chance to get this PSP for free if I can fix it.
Its a challenge from my buddy.

I suspect however that the Memory Stick Reader is Dead.
I have a Tool battery I bought from DealExtreme.

I made a MMS using PSP Grader Lite V006 via my Vista Laptop and a Memory Stick Duo Adapter into the Media Ports on my LapTop.

Ok, trouble shooting.

With No Battery Installed and Plugged in Via AC adapter The green power light turns on, solid in color. Turns off after about 30 sec. UMD doesn't spin up. Memory Stick light doesn't flash.

With Offical Sony Battery in, no AC adapter, Turns off after 30 sec. UMD doesn't spin up. Memory Stick light doesn't flash.

Putting the Tool battery in, with no MMS inserted the PSP instantly turns on without me flipping the power switch. It doesn't turn off on its own. UMD doesn't spin up. Memory Stick light doesn't flash. Can't turn off with power switch.

Putting the Tool battery in with MMS inserted. PSP instantly turns on without me flipping the power switch. It doesn't turn off on its own. UMD doesn't spin up. Memory Stick light doesn't flash. Can't turn off with power switch.

Any help please? Free PSP is at stake. =p

Most Magic Memory Stick creators have issues running on VISTA.

I would suggest finding a PC running XP to create the Magic Memory Stick.

Insert your mms stick, while you insert your tool battery make sure youre holding the L trigger.

Most people forget to mention about the L trigger to bring up the menu. Anyways, if that doesnt work...try using "total newbi installer" for the mms. I'm pretty sure it works on vista (but dont quote me).

*EDIT*
heres the link...scroll down a bit for the guide.

In most cases you don't have to press L Trigger to boot via Pandora unless you have installed boosters IPL loader onto the memory stick.

Try using this guide HERE (use XP PC if available).

Larrylje,

I retried PSP Grader Lite V006 (Boy that was a pain in the ass, Torrenting on WiFi on my Laptop which is Vista really killed my bandwidth, then finding it. Then finding 401.pbp, then finding out that I never reinstalled the .NET framework and having to go to M$.com to get that. *Sigh*)

I got it to work, thanks! I would've probably dismissed using my XP tower upstairs if you didn't tell me to.

Why do these programs hate Vista so darn much?
