Can't Delete Installed Game From Hard Drive

I installed mirror's edge to my xbox 360 hard drive, having completed the game I am now looking to delete it. When I click delete through system settings --> memory way I get message saying "There was a problem performing that action" and if I do it through game library it just thinks its gone for a second but hasn't actually been deleted.

Can anyone give any help please??? does the disk need to be in or out??? shouldn't it matter etc.

It shouldn't matter. I rip and remove games from my x360 harddrive all the time.

I forgot what program it's called, but I know you can take the 360 hard drive out of that case thingy, and hook it up to a computer... then with the use of this program (I think it's called xplorer360), you can browse the contents of the drive, and erase it manually.

Are you logged on to LIVE when you're trying to delete the game?
