Ive lost my original firmware file for my hitachi 47 drive, its got xtreme firmware on atm & im wanting to update it. From what i understand i need to get a copy of firmware from the same type of dvd drive & then flash the key of my old box to the new firmware when putting iXtreme on? Would like to know if im correct in thinking this & where do i find a copy of original firmware w/out purchasing a drive exactly the same?

I'm not sure about this, so maybe someone else could confirm or deny, but couldn't you just use firmware toolbox, load the hacked fw (for your specific drive), save the key into it, and then just put that into the folder for iprep to flash to the drive?

All you have to do is get the drive into modeB, open FW toolbox and do a restore.
