i've played alot of movies streaming from my pc to the ps3. Most of the avis work, but some don't i just get that error when it tries to play them. the video plays fine on the pc though so the video shouldn't be messed up. i dont want to burn any dvds since i got my network set up that's why i just want to stream everything, or copy it to the ps3 hdd

AVI is a container. It is what is how the audio and video streams are encoded that determine compatibility. What do use to stream? TVersity should take care of problems like that.

It could also be that, like ooZEROoo said, the video/audio streams aren't encoded right. It might not work even through TVersity. If streaming through TVersity doesn't work, then you might have to re-encode the video.
