Hi all

I have The Box Super (genuine 25 x 7).

I'm getting a "Flash Update Failed" error.

I've been here - http://www.4shared.com/account/dir/30426...lmgFEBduDwF6e#/ and downloaded GTRom_Super_8[1].02e_081129.zip

I've connected my null modem cable(with USB adapter), my laptop has recognised the USB/Serial cable and I checked the settings in Device Manager. The COM port is set to COM2 and the bits per second rate to 115200.

I've started GTRom_Super_8.02e.exe and I've checked that the serial port is set to COM 2 and the baud rate to 115200.I've made sure "App file only" is selected. The option to find a BIN file is greyed out so I'm assuming the downloaded file is preloaded with the new fix.

I've made sure that the box is on standby (i.e. time and flashing dot showing) I click "Download" and after a few seconds I get the update error.

I have tried the options in "If you have a Bad Flash ..." post with no luck.

Current info is -
APIver:6.00e_E
Bootver:8.0

Does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong? Please bear in mind I'm a relative newcomer to this!!

Thanks

I have had the box turned on! I've had it turned on and in standby; I've had it on and tuned to an unencrypted channel; I've had it on and tuned to an encrypted channel; I've had it turned off initially, started the download and then turned it on and non of them work.

and thanks for the link Mr _Laa

but the problem is that where this tutorial says "...just hit download", it doesn't. It just sits there at 0% for about 30 seconds then comes up with the Flash fail error!

there must be something i'm missing/doing wrong!

Sorted it myself! Needed to use a different PC (one running Vista).
