I've moded my wii with a wiikey 2 and reconfige it to read as follow
region patcher: on
audio fix: on
Original read speed: 6x
Original DL read speed: 6x
back up read speed: 3x
back up dl read speed: 3x
allow system upgrade: usa
When I put my back up game in, the system able to recognize the disc but once I click start a black screen came up. The game never load up. Is this a problem with my disc or is it the chip itself? Please help. I have tried setting the back up read speed at 6X before. The same thing happened. Please help!!! Thanks
Can someone please help me? I've burned numberous disc, ranging from generic DVD+R to brand name such as Sony DVD+R but I got the same result for all of them. The Wii able to recognize the disc and game. However, once I click start, the game can't load; the tv screen turn black. Any of the more experience gamer/modder help me out please!!!!!!!!!
From my experiences, the Wii doens't like DVD+Rs much.
Two questions
1. Are you sure your backups work at all? Do you have a way to test them using another chipped wii or via the homebrew channel?
2. Have you tried Verbatim DVD-Rs? Most people have good luck with them. I tried TDK DVD+Rs and had zero luck, then Sony (Pricey!) DVD-Rs and had a little luck, then finally Verbatim DVD-Rs and almost all my backups work now. When I burn I close all programs, even crap running the background and burn at 1x. If I surfed the web or played around on the comp while I was burning I got a lot of coasters.
Thanks for your reply Friction. I have no way to check my back up to make sure it works. However, I've burned about 7 discs now and I just tried verbatim -R (the more expensive digital movie type) still the same result. I'm not sure what's going on.
This is my first time chipping a console, so I'm a little green about the subject. But I believe that I have chipped it correctly. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to config the chip right?
