I have a modified 360 that has a benq drive in it.
The problem is, is that now the 360 is giving me problems with problems described in this article.
Video failure
In mid 2007, technology and gaming blogs began reporting about new problems with the Xbox 360 losing video output.The problems are characterized by a blank or staticy video output with a proper functioning audio output and no flashing red lights on the console. The complete video failure is sometimes preceded by other graphical glitches such as an irregular saturation of green and/or red colors. Threads on Xbox.com forums suggest the problem may be widespread. However, since the issue does not display the three flashing red lights indicative of general hardware failure, it is not covered under Microsoft's extended three year warranty.
I was given a brand new xbox 360 today as a present and I was all set to mod this one as well only to find out that it is has the new Lite-on Drive.
So, what I would like to do is get my modified Benq drive to work with my 360 console with the Lite-on drive, and vice versa.
Basically I would like to switch the drives and have them work on both.
If I can't have it work on both, then I would at least like the modified Benq drive to work with the new 360.
I have done a lot of reading and can't seem to find a tutorial on how to get this done for my model of drives.
My brother is the one who actually did most of the modding on my 360 so if there are no tutorials then please use simple language that a high school drop out semi computer illiterate like me can understand.
The spoofing technique is the same, however both 360's will not be working. The issue you are describing is from the HANA/ANA chip overheating and should be giving you the e74 error w/one flashing light. There are tons of tuts for spoofing, the only difference will be in the way you extract the firmware from the lite-on, which you can find tuts on that (just google extracting lite-on firmware).
You could always try sending your benq into M$ and requesting the same drive back. However there is a chance that they could send it back w/ a lite-on in it, but you could always say if they can't fix it send the original back.

But like i said before make sure you save that fw from the benq so you can replace it if you get the other one fixed. Then you can keep that one modded and maybe sell the lite-on or wait for the fw and mod that one as well.
Getting the key off the Lite-on isn't going to be addressed with a simple 2 line explanation. You're going to have to do research.
Here's a great thread on how to obtain your inquiry.bin and key from the Lite-On. From there, you just flash the BenQ with the lite-on key and spoof the BenQ drive with the Lite-On's inquiry.bin file.
