can someone please tell of an application for windows that can open a "bin" file because at the moment my computer wont open them.
any help would be much appreciated cheers!!

or you could have just answered him outright...the program you need to view and/or convert .BIN/.CUE files is a program called "PowerISO"...there is another one called "MagicISO", but I prefer PowerISO, it seems to support more formats...google it.

Hello to SRH22...yes I suppose I could've but then why spoon feed? Teaching someone how to search for an answer is a far more valuable lesson don't you think? Let's face it, that question has been answered countless times and there are many programs which deal with such file types.
Now to lay this to rest SRH22, I've given the newbie a link to follow and the ability to research our resources further..surely you don't have a problem with this. Oh and one last point SRH22....

i did try and reply to you guys earlyer just did not work, so can firmware come in a "bin" file as that is what i need to run on my computer then download to my digital reciever.

Well.. I suppose a professional explanation is in order.. (against my rules.. but hey.. sometimes things need a proper explanation)
A .bin file can be anything.. a disk image, an application, a picture, a text file, a hardware driver, bios or firmware.. .bin means BINARY.. a file of 1's and 0's with no other region coding of formatting... You could open it using debug, or another binary or asm file manipulation/editing application.. but I don't think it would help you in any way.. all you would get is the raw 10100101 or the hex equivalent.
Without knowing what it is supposed to be for, or what you are trying to do with it, there is no way to guess what it could be. Usually you do things with bin files.. flash them to a device using another application to handle the read/write operations or burn them to disk.. or on my system they can also be applications (firefox.bin for example) which can be run from the command line.

bin ALWAYS come with a cue file, if you're having trouble with bin, then get the missing cue file

Maybe you don't understand how forums work...normally when someone posts a question to a forum...that normally means they aren't smart enough to find it themselves and therefor you have to "spoon feed" them...
If your not going to post back with a direct answer for them to their problem, then don't post in the first place...simple enough.

Wrong, you don't have to have the .CUE file to convert it, you only need the binary data file, the .BIN
