Ok, I think I?m confused again now lol, I was already to go and flash my STARVIEW 2 box with the new starview fix, now I believe I have to flash with a Logo file aswell as new version, because I have version 4.51 is that right?
Ok could someone just help me out here, this is what I would do, tell me if i'm wrong please.
1. Load the GTrom software, flash V4.54 bin file
2. Do I then click on the Logo file (in the firmware pack) and upload the bin file just like I did with the V4.54 file and click download again?
Is it a case of just flashing 2 files now, rather than one because I have version 4.51? If not please help and tell me what i have to do :)
Thanks

Can anyone confirm that it's 3 bin files to flash
(if you have V.4.51, all seperately and you have to wait till download is complete, then it should be done?
Sorry i know the guide is in the pack, but it doesn't say exactly step by step, and flashing is all new to me! Just want to be sure before i attempt to update for the first time tomorrow!
Thanks for all your hard work, much appreciated : )

This is how I did mine. I was on 4.51 so I put box in standby after connecting to pc.
Start GTrom loader assuming you have downloaded it. Find the BIN file for version 4.54 put that in the loader, click APP file only select your correct COM port and click download.
Hopefully, once thats finished wait until it says complete.
Load LOGO bin file into loader and select background APP only (or something along those lines) and download (choose correct COM port again). After this says complete, do the same as the first time with the version 8.02 BIN file. You should then be sorted.

Scouser, I couldn't find what I was looking for in Eamo's, can you just help for a sec? I think I have 4.54e already loaded on my SV2 The Box (Genuine), is it possible to save the Channel Dump file first so I can reload it back on when I've flashed it with 802? Also, what GTLoader version do I use for the new firmware?
Are donations taken on here for the guys? Terrific work.

Cheers Dean, is v4.3 the latest? I downloaded a GTRom around Oct 07, this the same one? It's all on an external hard drive gathering dust i'll check later when I get the chance.

Use thee v4.03 to load the new BIN file fix, and check your box, Menu and System information, and if you have 4.54 on it then you only need the fix.

Cheers Malci, I presume the v4.03 is in Eamo's library? Sorry about this but the forum is littered with the same rubbish and I'm just adding to it, apologies!

If you go to Eamo's Library and click in the Folder The Box, then Firmware, you will see a folder named The Box UK Fix 031208 click into that and download it, it is a complete pack (Loader and BIN Files and Instruction) and no need to appologise, if you are needing help.
EDIT: Have you checked your system info/ if you have the 4.54 on it then as I said above applies, (not that it will do any harm if you re-flash it on again, because it won't), just trying to save you a little time.

Thanks Malci, I'm nearly sure it's 4.54e DAted Oct 07 so I'll just flash the new fix over that using the 4.03 loader cheers. That seems simple enough although Dean above is having trouble now! Sorry mate I can't help ye there! :(

Ok, i managed to get it working (well atleast i thought i did) i tried one of the bad flash methods of turning the box on after hitting download in the GTrom, and then it actually started to work i think for about 10 mins, green lines were moving slowly on the box, but the download bar on the GTrom was stuck at 10%, before eventually saying "flash update fail" again... Just connected the box up again, just to check i haven't blown it up or something lol and it works like it did previously, but with no update on it yet :(
Thanks For The Previous Reply malci

Drag them all out (3) bins individually on to your desktop, then you can easily pick them up in the bin box when pressing BIN BUTTON, 4.54 first App File Only box checked, then The LOGO file Background Data File box checked, and then the 8.02 fix bin file App File Only checked again, take your time and think about it, and wait for the pop up box DOWNLOAD COMPLETE to appear, each time before removing or doing anything else, it seems a long time, but be patient.
EDIT: Appoligies it is definate;y Background Date File

Hi all just need clarification if i may.I have flashed a starview with vers 4.54, now i have to do the logo before the fix. My question is what file type do i select on the Gtrom?? A post here says "background app only (or something like that)", but the choices are boot file only or background data file. which one is it please as the guide does not mention how to do the logo.
Thanx in advance

Flashed it finally, and seems to be working fine! After trying a few times to flash, and turning the box off and on, it finally worked when i left the box off for about 20 minutes, turned it on again and then did the flash, waiting to see if it updates by itself now? Thanks malci : )

Hi again,
I am trying to flash a starview 2 box. I have to do the 3 flashes due to the prev software that was installed. I do the 1st flash 4.54(at this point if i reboot, the digital display = four bars go up, it goes to "on" then blank), when i do the logo flash the 4 bars dont stop after download complete and just keeps counting up the 4 bars (no on). If at this point i do the flash of the uk fix then after reboot the bars count up go to "O" of the word on and freezes, i have tried 3 times now and also 1 without reboots between flashes but still no joy and get same prob. Have looked at bad flash procedures and see no info on this problem. Anyone any ideas? genuine sv2 in uk nthell
thanx in advance

maybe this is the problem i,m having?? Is it definently channel data file for the logo file?? It wont accept this file on anything else but background data file (which is what i used) as this was only one gtrom v4.54 seems to work with?? Now i,m confused

Dreadly, i think malci has made a mistake here, but it's definitely the BACKGROUND DATA file you select for the Logo file
This is what i did...
Flashed V4.54
Then The Logo File (Background Data File)
Then the fix
Then it was done :) Like i said previously, after trying to flash it on standby a few times nothing was happening, just kept getting "flash update fail"
So i turned the box off for a while, turned it on again and almost immediately clicked download on the GTrom software, and then everything started to download and work...
