Any guides on the physical hook-up required to update the BenQ drive with Ixtreme?

I've found some good guides on how to update the BenQ drive however I'm seeming to have no luck in finding any mention on the physical connections that need to be made. I mean, I know that I'm going to need a specific SATA card, but isn't SATA for hard drives, rather than DVD drives?
Also, once the physical connection is made, how specifically is iPrep going to enable Windows to boot into DOS so as to make changes to the BenQ BIOS? From what I figured out is your BIOS supports the booting of USB devices (jumprives for example) then that's the best thing to use for booting/flashing rather than a USB floppy drive (I have no internal floppies on my machine).
Anyway, if what I'm asking has already been answered ad infinitum, I apologize, so can anyone point me in the direction of said tutorial that I may have missed with the required information?
Note: Before anyone even suggests it, yes, I am using the "Hacking the Xbox 360 for Dummies" book. So far no luck in finding much about the required information, but then again, I may be reading it, but somehow missing it.

I flashed my friends benq using that exact tutorial and had no problems
In a nut shell:
You put the via sata card in your pc, install the drivers. use the internal sata plug on the card and plug it into the back of the benq drive,(Yup sata is for dvd drives too)
The "Physical connection"? [Benq drive]to[sata cable]to[sata card in pc]
Download the hacked firmware from xbins
Put iPrep on a usb,(Vista had problems with me so use XP to use iPrep)
Boot your computer from the bios into your usb with iPrep, iPrep is just a collection of DOS commands thats why it works.)
Run the commands, I dont remember them off hand, they are in that tutorial
And the drive is flashed.

Thanks you answered most of my questions. I figure it may be something like trying to update an Argon with Injectus/JTAG, the only difference is, no GUI.
So just use a standard internal floppy cable for the connection, and that's all that needs to be done as far as physical connections is concerned? Also would tapping a wire to the Xbox 360 case and to the PC case be a good way to eliminate any extra charges between the two seperate grounds?
My last question is what is the differene between updating the BenQ drive, compared to buying a premodded console from modchipcentral? I mean, far as I can figure, if you can flash/update the BenQ drive, then couldn't you save $200, and make the change yourself, or does spoofing refere to something else? Just curious since I'm not going to attempt an update unless there is valid enough reason to do so.

No its not a floppy cable its a SATA cable, they are used for hard drives and disk drives (the technology for transferring the information is the same). Spoofing is something else and is used if you have a drive fail, or have a lite-on. It is the process of extracting the key from the old drive, and putting it into the firmware and placing that on the new drive (although much more complicated than just that). However if you have a perfectly fine working benq then you don't need to worry about that.
As far as booting form the flash drive that has to be done by going into your bios configuration and setting boot from usb device (iprep does not do this for you). also ensure that all other SATA and IDE cables are unplugged.
Your best bet is to maybe read some more tut's not just that one try xbox-scene and robinhoodsplayground (they have a video tut). The more you know the better off you are. These should help you understand the process better, and once you done it it becomes extremely easy to do again.

And as far as the grounds are concerned i doubt there will be a huge difference in the charges that will cause something to fry, however running a wire shouldn't hurt anything, and should balance out the difference in charges. Just make sure its only touching the cases. However I've always used the 360 power supply and never worried about the grounds and never had a problem (6 flashes), in my opinion static electricity would be more of a concern than that. Your thinking too much into it.
