Hi guys,
Well looks like my box is indeed a clone after viewing the posting of Pasanonic, so I'm going to need to get a 'legitimate' box.

Does any of you guys have any ideas on what would be the best box to get now, and where to get a sure legitimate console from?

I currently have the Eurovox Max-V 2008.

Kind Regards

Just because there currently isn't any new firmware out for the clones doesn't mean there won't be soon.

Unless you bricked it putting the regular firmware on it?

Yeah I put the regular firmware on it. I believed it was an original as I'd got it via a family member after paying the same price as I would for the 'original'.

It was only when I read the thread of Pasanonic this morning I've realised my mistake.

HiTeck is the eurovox expert, he'll let you know what's the best thing to do.

I believe the eurovoxes might be hard to come by at the moment.

It doesn't have to be Eurovox, I'm open to a whole range of different consoles, I just want one that works and is reliable and gives me what I want (mainly Sky Sports and Box Office).

If you read around the forums you'll see that everyone has their own personal preference. You will also see that nobody knows when nagra3 will be rolled out and if and when it is, nobody knows what boxes will work afterwards.

Some people reckon the linux based boxes eg dreambox are more likely to work but nobody knows for sure. They can be quite expensive as well.

Personally i'd go for one of the older cheaper models purely because nobody knows what's down the line.

It's up to you, if you want to take the risk of of loading the firmware 30/11/08 which I have seen work and run without problems then go ahead, other option is to update it manually which cant be disscussed on here which i'm sure your aware of.

If your considering buying a new box then I would go with the firmware flash but be it off your own back only :)
