Hi

I have flashed my brothers benq drive and all seemed to go well. The thing is though when he plays midnight club LA or GTA 4 back ups then crazy shit starts happening like buildings vanish and he crashes into objects that are not there ......etc etc. I am using verbatum discs burned at 2.4X so that is not the problem.

I have looked this up and I see that it is a common problem with benq drives. I have a spare samsung ms28 drive and I want to use this in the console instead of the benq.

Could someone please point me towards a good step by step tutorial on how to swap these drives? I have looked around and I have not seen a good tutorial anywhere.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

this is a problem with some of the benq drives they can not read the disks fast enough to load the screen i also get this with my drive. all you have to do is install the game to the hard drive and you wont have this problem any more with either of these games trust me it worked for me !!!!!!!!! i had the same problem with both games gta 4 and midnight club la

Leerock,

Thank you for your reply. I dont think he has got a hard drive in his 360. Im gonna go over later and check. I have seen from reading around that the hard drive option solved this issue for a lot of people.

If its a thing that he has no hard drive.....is it possible to swap the benq with the samsung. As I have said, I have a samsung ms28 spare anyway. So If could swap the 2 drives then that would be the better option for me.

I have seen that people swap Liteon drives with different drives using a type of spoofing method. So im hoping that the same thing can be done with the benq & samsung. I could just really do with having a good tutorial to guide me through it.

if you are comfortable doing that and spoofing do that mate but the simpliest way out of it would be to buy a hard drive. good reasons to buy 1. less wear on you laser 2. less risk of disks getting scratched 3. less chance of red ring of death cause everything is running from the hard drive less stress on your 360. if you dont want to spend big money on an official hd look on ebay for a 120 gb western digital scorpio (bevs or bevt)they go for about 35 euro man and just swapp your 20 gb drive with one of them hope this helps you.

So again , can anyone point me towards the information/tutorial that I need to spoof/swap the benq with the samsung?

Cheers mate, I will have a good read of this. Im not going to attempt it unless im 100% sure that it will work.

Just one more thing, did all of your back up games play with graphic/texture issues on your flashed benq or just GTA and Midnight club?
