Identifying my WII chipset...

Hi.. ive just purchased a WII for my kids (me really) and im trying to identify the chipset.. the serial is LEH23049262 and as a last resort i will open it up too look.. but if i can find out through others knowledge then so be it.. I have researched on various sites including this one but i cant seem to find any info on it.. it must be new new if u get me.. Any help would be appreciated..

If you bought it within the last several months then it almost certainly contains a D2E chipset. But even if it doesn't you can just get a D2Pro or a wiikey2 as they support all chipsets.

There is a 100% chance the chipset is GC2-D2E and covered in black glue.

Cheerss penguin98.. i bought it yesterday but i cant help but modd stuff.. as some might know on here with my psp's etc...

And the answer is yes.. its covered in black resin.. so i guess i will wait till warranty runs out b4 removing it

There is a how to remove the resin I read somewhere. I dont remember exactly where it was tho I read it.

I've heard of people removing the resin with a dremmel, but I'd be very nervous about doing that myself.

Theres a few how too's floating around, if was to heat it and use scalpel apparantly it comes off the size off cornflakes.. then use fibreglass pen on the legs etc.. but i will leave alone till warranty passed.. my nieces is G2C-DMS which is good so i might just swap or my new one lol and mod that.. thanx to all
