did you have someone flash the drive for you? if so they should have give you a copy of it on a disc, if not then no is the answer to your question, hope this helps
The drive doesn't have to be functional to read/write FW to it. If it is a Samsung MS28 you should be able to read the FW off the drive and then open the FW with Maxiums FW tool to get the key.
Use this for a MS28. (I have never flashed an MS25 but assume it is the same) Follow the first 9 steps to retrieve the Firmware then open the Firmware with Maximus Firmware Toolbox and copy the key. All 22 steps is how to flash a MS28.
1. Make iprep stick with Samsung FW 1.4
2. Turn computer on and 360 on (Do not connect SATA yet)
3. Once booted into iprep press ?Y? and ?Enter?
4. Connect SATA cable into 360 drive
5. type ?dsam 1234567 12345 or your SN in this format? press ?Enter?
6. Once the drive?Xtreme? displays (Will be 1.if all drives are disconnected) turn off the 360.
7. Select the ?Xtreme? drive and count off 10 seconds
8. At 10 seconds power on the 360 and the firmware should begin copying to the USB stick. (Reading)
9. When the PC says its done, turn off the 360, disconnect the SATA and reboot PC to windows.
10. Open up 360 Firmware Toolbox and open the cracked firm ware to ensure correct key code. (If key code is FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF or 7777777777777777777 you will need to open the original firmware and copy the key code and replace the FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF by clicking replace key.
11. Copy the SAM-OFW.bin file to a safe location (this is in case you need it later on)
12. Open up the BACKUPS folder and copy the folder that is inside. (First folder is 1234567 or 1st 7 digits of your S/N and the next folder is 12345 or the next 5 digits of your S/N)
13. Now paste the 1234567 folder inside the CFW folder and move the file ?sam-CFW.bin? to the second folder (12345 or second set of S/N)
14. Boot back onto the USB disk.
15. Once booted into iprep press ?Y? and ?Enter?
16. Connect SATA cable into 360 drive
17. type ?fsam 1234567 12345 or your SN in this format? press ?Enter? (Must use the same one as you did in step 5)
18. Once the drive ?Xtreme? displays (Will be 1.if all drives are disconnected) turn off the 360.
19. Select the ?Xtreme? drive and count off 10 seconds
20. At 10 seconds power on the 360 and the firmware should begin writing to your drive. (Flashing Bank0; Bank1; Bank2; Bank3; Bank4)
21. When the PC says its done, turn off the 360, disconnect the SATA.
22. Connect the XBOX SATA cable and insert a backup game. Your back up game should load.
ur a legend! i havent got a via sata card so cannot carry it out, but thanks for givin me all the instructions.
i do have a onboard sata on my dell motherboard which i used to hack in the first place no problems, when i use iprep how do i know which one is that 2nd sata port?
it jus says intel controller etc...
i dont know which the sata controller port is called?
ye, i put mtkflash on my floppy and booted in msdos with the floppy.
i did "mtkflash r /m orig.bin" and it dumped it onto my floppy.
i than booted into windows and used i think it was hex editor program to copy my key over to a xtreme firmware file.
i put the new xtreme firmware file onto my floppy and booted in dos again "mtkflash w /m xtreme.bin"
and it was hacked and working. (it got ruined when the floppy disk stopped working)
the floppy disk worked sometimes when i tried to retrieve the file but nope it than went completely dead.
i bought a new pack so it cant go wrong.
i been trying to read the firmware on the xbox but i cant.
it says drive not found, i tried the hotswap method where it displays
1 . ich5
2 . ich5
so i switch over to the xbox again and press 1 enter and it jus hangs because it cant detect the drive to read from.
it says code should be 70, sometimes the code is 00, the closest i got is usually 50, 51 but it needs to find code 70 in order to read the drive or write to it.
