When burning with ImgBurn do I need to verify the data?

I always burn 8x speed Verbatim at 4 with img burn using dvd file made by mulleter and recently i noticed that after the initial 40 minutes it takes to burn the game it spends +25 minutes on verifying it; is this step really necessary?

not sure but when I try select writing speed if gives me a choice of 0.0x or max. Im using Xbox Backup Creator v2.8 so what I did was just use imgburn and set layer and set speed is there something wrong with this?

no dude its not, my past 8 burns have been fine and i havent verified any of them. waste of time it is.

i always try to use 2.4 as my burn speed, i have found slow to be better when doing movies or images for games. in this case, slow is better in my opinion.
