First of all, i'm sorry if this is in the wrong forum.
Right, tomorrow i'm buying a second hand PSP, the original one, not a slim and lite.
I'd like to be able to play Megadrive and Snes games on it. can someone please explain, in the simplest way possible, everything i'll need to do this. and also, will i be able to download everything i need? i'm only on a dial-up connection that disconnects every 2 hours.

First of all you need custom firmware on it. I recommend Dark Alex's
5.00 m33-4 . Google it and download it, read a lot of the guides it will explain how to install it, this is a very basic guide on how to install custom firmware once you've got the custom firmware make a folder on your memory card called psp (you probably already have it)Then make a folder in psp called UPDATE then put the custom firmware there . This guide explains the rest

Hope This helps

Please ensure you read the forum rules before posting.
Your title was against the title policy and you're begging for information that is abundantly available on this site.
Using the search bar at the top and putting time into the search will yield the result you need.
Posts like this create redundancy and are nothing but a nuisance to the forum.
If you run into a problem AFTER reading some tutorials on how to install custom firmware then feel free to make a post with the appropriate title and detailed description of the problem. We'll be more then happy to assist you at that point.
You know I give you the mad, phat, superfly, stupid-dope, dumb-ass, retarded, bomb-sh*t props!
What else do you want from me!?!
Dark_Alex...mad love and thanks for giving this community so much and asking for so little.

1)
Quote: Forum rules
1. Before starting a new thread, use SEARCH first (located on top of the page..) to see if your question has been answered before!
7. Describe your problem specifically -- including the thread topic, because this helps people who are willing to answer to you.
2)
You obviously didn't search very long. as i said there's MANY posts on exactly what you're looking for on this site. I'd go as far as to say dozens.
3)
Quote: I'm not asking how to install custom firmware, i'm asking what i need to use emulators,
That quote right there says you haven't done but 2 seconds of researching b/c that statement is about the same as saying "I want to fly to Europe without a plane".
4)
Don't be a smart ass. Everything in my previous post is justified and legit.
Your laziness isn't a reason for someone to give you links to everything you want.
5)
If you have a problem I'd be more then happy to contact a moderator so we can get this resolved.

1. I'm an idiot when it comes to PSP's and i need everything explaining to me, how much clearer to my problem could the title be?
2. Yeah i've found many threads, none of which mention using the firmware i've been told to use. All the threads i've found say to use firmware 1.50.
3. I know i have to have the firmware installed first, but i've already read the instructions on how to do that, it's just what else i need to be able to run emulators that i need to know

CFW. That's your answer. And whoever told you 1.5 is mistaken.
CFW - Custom Firmware = You can run whatever YOU want to run on your system. Not what sony tells you that you can run.
Short answer to your question:
Look up how to make a magic memory stick and a jigkick battery (also known as a pandora battery).
Use them to get CFW on your system.
Download your emulators and put them on after you have CFW.
Play your roms.
PSP games don't require emulators.
That should cover EVERYTHING you need to get done what you're asking for.
I would STRONGLY suggest you read the top sticky post on the forums called "The Ultimate Sticky Sticky".

Yes. Very true. It's not hard to do.
Scary the first time cuz u don't wanna fuck it up. But if you do your research you wont ruin your battery.
Just be patient with it. If you're uncomfortable hard modding a battery, then you may want to consider buying a pre-made one off the internet.
