hey. i have followed the steps on the forum for flashing before and it did not work for me but decided to give it a go again. i read there is a problem in UK but the ireland problem had been sorted so would appreciate any help.

I have a genuine 'the box' one (25 x 7) . channels are found but no pictures come up when i do automatic scan when i turn it on after the flash. i tried it a few times and nothing came up. I followed steps as per celtic71's and followed this link as well

http://www.freewebs.com/starview-update/

so im lost now -is there a solution ?

If its not updating for you, try this,
Menu > 1570
Turn EMU Off
Exit to channels & leave it for about 30 seconds
Go back into the CAS menu
Go to set default key > press ok
Turn EMU On
Exit out to channels & let it update.

Noelyf I have the same Starview TheBox genuine (25 x 7) in Dublin and have flashed the new 4.55 firmware up from 4.50 from Eamos Library using the 4.03 loader, flashed fine, scanned NTL channels no prob, also done 1570 set default key, and key EMU on and back to Sky Sports 2, but seems to hang on "Data is being updated" and 0% never moves, it did previously with v4.50 update originally? Any other suggestions?

Turn the b0x off at the back for a min, turn back on & go to s*y two.
If it doesnt update, try the movie channels.
It might take a while but will kick in eventually.

If you leave it on s*y 2 and it says updating and is giving a percentage it should update eventually, you might have to wait a while.

on 4.55 you need to let it update on sly two and wait. it will start again twice. 4.57 updates on any channel it is the latest version.

Okay, then the term (FLASHING) is used when you put Firmware on the box, this is done to unscramble the encrypted channels, and to see what and how you flash a box, then click on the link marked Eurovox at the bottom of my post and you will see in detail how to flash the Eurovox range, the connectivity is the same as most box's apart from the Starview 4 USB, to get a guide/idea of flashing the Starview range then click on the Starview link 2nd line at the bottom okay.
