Ok, im gettin a 360 and i found someone on craigslist who will mod it for me (for a small fee of course). So that is being taken care of by someone who knows what he's doing. Ok, now as for getting back up copy of games, would a dvd r that's 4.7 gigs do or will i likely need something bigger? and how will i know if it will work on xbox live?
Also, i looked on the guide on this site to burn xbox360 games and its a tad confusing for me can someone simplify it. Here is the one i went through:

Oh and are Verbatim dvd+r really necessary, i still have plenty of dvd+r's at home but a different brand, i don't wanna just have them lying around. And really, anything higher than 2x won't work for burning?
Would any1 know what site will have back-ups that are good?
Sry if anything im asking sounds stupid, but i really do need help with this.
PS: what he is doing is flash modding.

very soon?? has the date been released yet? only asking because i refuse to read that 1.5 FW thread that has turned into a bunch of noobies that dont know what they are talking about.

they've announced it will be released before xmas... which is 19 days from now ...
supposedly its being beta'd this weekend... personally i'm thinking we'll have it by next weekend...

hold on, i don't know ANYTHING about this modding. I don't even know if it's a chip. So, whats this whole 1.5 thing and what would i be getting if i didn't wait and what are the adv and disadv of both?
Oh, and will the 4.7gb dvd+r's i have gonna be good enough to burn games onto?
oh and im wondering if the verbatim dvd+r's really necessary. I have heard of people having no trouble with their games using cheaper dvd+r's.
edit* Flash modding a 360 seems easy enough, can someone recommend a hdd to do it with, also, im gonna be connecting it to my laptop, can any1 recommend a way to connect a sata hdd onto a laptop? Oh and where can i download the proper software to do this?

and you should seriously either have someone else do this for you, or reread over whatever you read, since you still have no clue what your going to have to do. as what type of hard drive you have makes no difference when flashing a 360s dvd drive.

ok, well just tell me if im correct, i have a sata hdd that is formatted by the xbox360, then i connect it to my computer and open it with xplorer360 and replace some file (i dunno what specifically, but i can find out). Then i can just input any dvdr with an xbox360 game burned onto it into my xbox360 and it should work.
Am i correct or am i missing something? or am i way off?
Oh, and no one answered, what is with this 1.5 thing, is it a chip or part of flashing the drive or what? someone please answer.
Edit* I just read one of the threads, apperently v1.5 is gonna be the new firmware. There was a lot of jargon i couldn't understand so thats pretty much all i got. Thx anyways on that. But still, about the flash modding, am i in the right direction?

no you are not correct. you do not do anything to the freaking hard drive on the 360. everything is done to the dvd drive. so perhaps you should either read, and re-read, and then re-read again, or just have someone else mod your 360 for you.
