I tried the MKV To MP4 guide (easy guide) on here. And my Xbox doesn't read the file. I playback on the PC. And it's a small size, Only audio plays. I tried with the conversion with a 720p and 1080p files. Any help would be great, Thanks.

Heh, I'm having the exact same problems with the latest beta version. Small(~30Mb) mp4 files that are unreadable. I then installed The Nero aac audio pack and I got 104 MB files that contained only audio, no video. It seems like the newest Beta doesn't add video to the mp4.

I downloaded and tried the latest stable version and have had 0 problems. Its much slower then the beta version, but the files actually work! :) :P

Try the stable version and report back here. I suspect there might be a bug in the latest beta version.

For which program are you talking about?

for playing mkvs on xbox360 try encode360
it makes a wmv file from your mkv and you can set it to do 720p or 1080 it keeps all the sound channels (or you can force stereo on it) itdoes take a long time to convert but the end resault looks amazing (i use it all the time and on my 120" screen using a 720p projector i see no artifacts at all (and its always in sync a major plus lol)

hope that helps

Thanks but I was looking for a way not to convert, and GOTSent seem to works out great in quality. Their new beta has a bug in it, which i downgraded and it seem to work fine.

However I tried a "Wanted 1080p" sample, and the audio cuts out half way through so maybe thats another issue GotSent needs to work out. Or someone on here has the same problem they could give their input.

This is how I did it.

Mine had video in MPEG4/AVC/h.264 and audio in DTS.

hey guys,

i hope it's ok to ask this here since it's related to the topic at hand. but my question is are you guys burning this to a dvd after converting it to a mp4? if so which program? ConverttoX? or are you streaming it via Transcode360 or Transverity (i think that's how it's spelled)? please let me know. i just downloaded a 1080p rip and i am waiting to read all your comments in this thread before attempting to convert it.

thanks.

I've been Streaming it via Media Center Extender, WMP11. You loose quality if you take a BluRay disc and burn it as a DVD if it can be done at all (which I don't think).

hey trip,

oh yeah i forgot about windows media center. i use that too on xbox360 i will use that then. i was figuring you couldn't burn it to a dvd too and if you did you'd lose quality. i wasn't sure. i just was curious if it could be burned to a dvd. Cause then i didn't have to have the original mp4 stored on the hard drive to stream so that i can save room on the hard drive by burning it. see i'm low on hard drive space. gotta free up more room. thanks for the quick reply trip :).

hey. back with another question. i just used GOTSent. the result was 3 mp4 files for a 1080p file with a 7.94 GB size. my question is there a way to get it to down to just one mp4 file for something like that? i really don't wanna have to switch to the next mp4 every 40 min or so. i know it says to use the "Split into 4GB" option in the guide this site provides but is it really necessary? i wanna stream it to my xbox 360 of course using trip's method thru Windows Media Extender. let me know.

but Xenonmkv does sound interesting tho. i may have to try that next.

thanks.

Xbox doesn't read files bigger than 4gb. Xenonmkv seems a lot better, and easier. Speed seems to be the same, even on my Quad core machine.

I have no trouble converting an MKV to an MP4 but when I burn the split files (split because the 360 doesn't handle files larger than 4GB) to a Dual Layer DVD it skips during playback. What do I do to fix this?
