First off slow down when typing.
Yes they are shipping the repaired consoles out w/a diff sticker, however its easier to take off and replace w/the old ones. Just use a hairdryer and lift up on the tab that the sticker is on and you can leave it on half w/o fully removing it.

why would you want to put the warranty sticker back on? (i can think of some nasty reasons such as taking it back to the store when it gets banned, selling it second hand to unsuspecting people and other frauds but no legitimate reason?)
before some one flames me saying there sure im not a saint etc etc theres a big difference between moding your 360 and warranty fraud
just tear off the the stickier same as most do (you open it you void the warranty whys that so hard for people to live with ?)

Why do people insist on talking morals and ethics on a board that is obviously bot about that?? if thats ur feelings then go elsewhere cause im pretty sure no one here is going to be phased by it or realize they are living in sin.
people want to preserve the sticker in case they get rrod again and want to get it fixed more permanently than xclamp by joe blow in his moms shed with a hair dryer and a beach towel.

I'm not talking about ripping someone off, i'm talking about getting it fixed by M$ when it RROD's. If you have done all stealth checks and created your backups properly you are much more likely to get RROD than banned (this has already happened to me). This is something that should not be happening w/$350 electronics in the first place, and whether i've tampered w/it or not the RROD is from faulty manufacturing and should be replaced regardless.
If i can get it replaced why wouldn't I? It seems ignorant to go out and buy a new console when you could get it fixed.

tired of this selfish attidude
if they detect that its banned they charge you if not then you get sent a new one , your old 360 theen goes to repair then to some one elsewho then gets a dud 360 (well banned) but it wont be banned i hear you say, we all know ms tag for banning months in advance , you modiefied ur console warentie gonne end of problem

mrgreaper - what evidence do you have that ms sends out banned consoles after they have been repaired? if u have evidence this has happened then please show us. Cause if MS is repairing consoles then they are most likey testing said consoles after repair to make sure they work. That is what is called Quality Control. I have worked in several of these depot style repair centers for IBM HP SONY, MS and several other companies and the QA testing on repaired unit is very thurough so i am going to go out on a limb and guess that MS is putting these units thru some type of burn-in process to test for faulty hardware. One of these tests is most likey a Network test and when that test is performed they would see that the console is banned and they probably go thru the process of unbanning, which to users like us is impossible to accomplish...yes true but for the reasons we want it is impossible but internally for MS it would be standard operating procedure. in the end no one is getting ripped off cause ms has the responsibility to fix RROD systems and the modding has nothng to do with that scenario, the only way it could would be is ms sees that the system has been modded and they might deny service...but that is what the sticker is for in the first place so HA

How is it selfish to want to get my 6 month old 360 that i paid $350 for fixed? i never said anything about sending a banned console in to get it replaced, they would obviously know before i sent it in that it was banned (if it were which it isn't, and no one every said anything about sending in banned consoles) and they would refuse to fix it. I have morales, and would never intentionally do something to screw over some other guy out of my own selfish reasons. However i do feel it is M$'s responsibility to fix their mistakes, regardless of whether i opened it up. I could see if i some how damaged the console which caused the problem, then i wouldn't expect them to fix it. It's just lke if you buy a car just because you replace the exhaust system, does that mean your warranty should be void on the powertrain? Of course not!
I realize they have specifications on their terms and agreements, but modding it only goes against the XBL terms of agreements.

yea MS should know that a consoles is banned when u call to send it in for repair. so really if MS doesnt know that they banned a console and they accept it to be repaired it is their fault for not following their own policy if they do refuse service to banned units. Either way they should have it noted in their internal system if a system is banned when you call. of course there will always be mistakes made cause humans are involved.

Just so you all now any box that gets sent out from m/s that's a replacement does not have a ban in place if there ever was one, where this rumour started is anyone's guess, with a little bit of searching it ain't hard to find Q&A's about this,i seem to recall it was in that section in regards to about warranty & refurbs
reaper if that were true his details of when he got that console back (remember it has a serial)would show it was banned before he got it,fyi all consoles that are refurbs are reset back to as tho they had never been used, any bans etc are removed. If one slipped thru *coughs* "doubt it",then it would'nt take long to sort out as the console would have a history..nough said
