did you specify when u bought the chip (left a msg in the comments field of the place u bought it) stating the type of security chip your wii has?

if not alot of places will solder the chip to a wii-clip to suit a D2C2 or higher by default

if not this could be your problem as the type of wiiclip needed or the way the chip is soldered on is diferent in the DMS to the D2E
