Hey,

I have been trying to find out if it is possible to get a graphic card for my computer (which has dual SLI cards in it), so that I can have a 3rd pci-e 1x rendering card to help out with 3d rendering performance.

If this is possible let me know

I got 2 8600 gt 512 mb cards in my system right now
(plan to go to 9600gt 1gb ddr3)

And I was wondering if the asus physx pci-e 1x graphics card would possibly help out with 3d rendering.

No, Triple SLI can't be used with anything other than 3 identical cards, and will only work with more powerful 8800 cards or better.
it's worth mentioning though, that one GTX260 will be more powerful than two 9600GTs and more than twice as powerful as three 8600GTs would be, even if you could run three at once.
SLi for cheap cards is a complete waste of money, buying one good card is always best unless you actually get to the end of the product range, where there isn't a faster card to buy.

Also, PhysX produces physics effects, which the graphics cards have to render, so although it enhances realism, it will actually make your graphics performance worse. Also worth mentioning, geforce 9800s and GTX260/280s have PhysX built into them, so if you own them, you technically already have a PhysX card without needing to buy one.

I am trying to deside on how to get my computer to render fast but am unsure of how to do that

I highly doubt the rendering program you use will support SLI. Typically 3D rendering programs that do use the GPU work best with workstation grade cards but these are horrifically expensive.
What software are you using?

I am using 3ds Max and sometimes Vue 6.

and is there a way to get a plugin that can allow the GPU to help render, other than RTSquare 1.31

I tryed to get RTSquare 1.31 but I don't know where to get it.

Acually I'm not rich

there is a website that's totally legit, and you can get any software there for really cheap.

at this place you can get 3DS Max 2009 for 230$

they are a cool company

the only thing is the software is for personal use only, as said by there FAQs page




so, where can I get a download of rtsquare
