Hi,

I have to update my mates box and was wondering which image is the best to flash it with? I will be using the dbox2 flashing assistant to do this using null modem cable.

Thanks.

Depends what you want from it Virgin 2.1 is a fantastic cut down image, or you could try Blade Quad or Commando 10. All these images are FTA only and you will have to add a few files to them.

Its got the Andromeda on it at the moment and have problems FTPing to it everytime, so just want something similar to the neutrino on the dreamboxes. I'll try the virgin 2.1 and see how that goes.

I assume you mean i'll have to add the roms and bouquets to it after flashing?

Thanks Sc0user, ur a legend.

Trying to flash using IFA, selected the virg1n+ image, selected the network card, selected the correct com port via null modem connection, dbox is on 192.168.2.1 same as my computer, both have diff ip addresses on same subnet, but when i click on start, the next screen appears but nothing happens. i can ftp to the box but cannot flash, why is this?

Sorry missed your reply. From memory that image had a default IP of 192.168.0.3, have you changed that to the above one? If you can FTP to it, then send the .img file over to the tmp folder and flash via the Dbox itself via the services menu, flash without bootlader. As said all the info you need is in Eamos.

Hi - not sure if it's allowed to be discussed here... just wondering for curiosity purposes - where do you find out about "adding a few files"...? These files are talked about in a roundabout way but after about 8 hours searching, am none-the-wiser...

Found several images that either throw up no channels or only FTA or less.

Cheers,

J
