Not be that I want to be Captain bring down but if you may want to dive into Home with cautious optimism. Why do I say this? I think that some PS3 owners have big expectations on Home and some may even have false expectation of grandeur. I even paid for Qore to get in the Beta and that did not happened but the I eventually got an invite through downloading the Home theme. When I got it I was excited then its quickly became hmm..cool. Don't get me wrong. Home is in fact cool and I love playing bowling and pool. Loved talking to random PS3 users. In fact I have added a few to my friends list. For now for me its an okay experience and I hope that soon it will be a great experience every time I log in.

Very true, a lot people walk into the beta thinking its going to be this utopia of fun, only to be disappointed and then come and complain about home on various gaming forums. It is still very cool but it isn't a game, and its still barely at its foundations waiting for additions.
Also has anyone seen any info about additions to the beta once it goes open? New areas etc?

I think I read somewhere about some rumored new areas soon to be released.. Not sure if it's true though, and I can't seem to remember where I read it at.. Oh well, guess I'll have to do some searching. =)

(-____-)! jeez guys, go easy. yeah we all have high expectations, but its just an open beta release. its a start. And remember there are always room for expansion with all their stuff. ^_^ i've been waiting for this.

if it is released today i think that it would be realeased through the PSN store as Download. I thought a firmware update but it should show somewhere on the PS store i believe

Its not a game and its alreaddy intergrated into the firmware, you only have to update it as soon as sony opens the doors this evening.

Yeah essentially, its just a 3d chatroom with a few minigames atm.

Aww man i thought i was the only one, it happened to me too. though its up now (17:04 gmt-5)i've been searching all day. even tried to login to the japanese one to see if theirs is up already

Now the PSN is up, i've downloaded/installed home but!... i cant log in lol, now home is dead.
They really need to upgrade their network asap.
