I have a question for all you xbox flashing experts out there...I recently after many months of saving, purchased an XBOX 360 with a Hitachi V78 drive along with a PCI VIA6421A sata card which I have correctly plugged into my mother board. After many days of reading up on "flashing" and downloading many tutorials, I attempted to flash my XBOX last night. Everything seemed to be going smoothly..My XBOX was in MODE B, my computer detected the Hitachi drive and the original movie which I had inserted but upon opening the "MAXIMUS 4.8 TOOLBOX" this is where the problem arose "I think".
I was at the final step of the tutorial where u press "start flashing" and halfway through this process, it gave me an error- I dont remember it word for word, but something along the lines of "you need to plug the card into the NATIVE sata ports-press retry of abort process"...I freaked out at this stage and continuously pressed "RETRY" in the hopes that maybe I could bypass that error message and successfully flash my BOX...this is where the horror begun :(
I switched on my XBOX to check to see if it was successfully flashing and behold the "circle" or "ring" was flashing red and green and wasn't booting to the main screen at all...I automatically assumed that perhaps I had stuffed up the "brain" side of things in the XBOX during flashing and so decided to rectify the SATA problem..I plugged the sata cable into another port (inner this time) and re-did the whole flashing process only this time I attempted to restore the "original.bin" file..everything again was going smoothly, it was in Mode B blah blah, and finally when i attempted to flash it said "successful"...YAY!! I thought, it was the sata cable all along but then when I attempted to boot the xbox, that dreaded RED and GREEN light still flashed and is still haunting me :(
It wont boot and I am out of options...I tried using different versions of the MAXIMUS software, but still, it continues to haunt me...I am out of options and don't know wat to do, plzzz help me!! I spent many months saving and really don't want to think the worst for my XBOX as yet :(
