I am already 100% sure that i am going to buy the extractor but I am unsure if i should buy the spear or not...

My friend is going to hack it for me and he has lots of experience with soldering so i am unsure how much it is required.
Should i buy it or not?


Do I require a SATA chipset for my PC?

What other connections do I need for my PC when i have to connect the drive?

Can someone also give me a description of the process(a very basic one, i'll get into the specifics later)from start to beginning?

you do need sata. I used a via pci card and the ck3, I also own the extactor and that works fine. the spear isn't needed but is useful according to their tutorial. I didn't buy it. The first liteon I did I did damage the pad you solder. It is so friggin tiny and my iron was on 350 celcius.You can bridge around it to the header if you damage the pad. The second one I did i turned the iron down to 205 celcius and had no problems at all.
