So I bought my original 360 last year before Christmas. Played well all the way until last month, when I developed an E 74 error. I called customer support and they sent out another unit, eventually. I guess most of it was UPS, whatever.
Anyway, I got my console back yesterday, plugged it up, downloaded the New Xbox Experience and was finally able to play games again. Well, for an hour or two at least.
I was playing The Force: Unleashed, but couldn't play for more than 30 minutes without it freezing up. I started getting worried. I checked it, wasn't hot, power supply ok. I let it sit for 30 minutes anyway, then put Call of Duty 2 in. It booted up fine, no freezes, worked like a charm.
Power off after 2 or 3 hours of play and went to bed. Upon waking up, it won't boot up. At first it was stuck in a loop, starting up then rebooting just as the Xbox symbol flashed on the tv. Then absolutely nothing. I turn it on, no picture or sound, only revolving green lights and a flashing power light. I checked the power supply again and it's orange in standby, but lights up green when Xbox is powered on.
After a really cruddy experience when I contacted Microsoft "support" last time, I'm really hoping I don't again, anybody ever faced a similar problem?
