I flashed 2 benq drives the other day, both of them play burnt games perfectly and work just fine in all ways except that I can't get windows to register that either of them exist. The bios always picks them up but when I go to windows they don't even show up in the device manager. I wanna make back-ups of the games I have rather than downloading them because that takes a god-awful long time. Anyone know how to correct this?

I know the Samsung's have to be flashed with the 0800 firmware to use them for ripping.

The same would have to apply for the Benq. Windows won't detect the drive with regular iXtreme firmware on it. You need to flash it with the 0800 firmware for the Benq.

Doing that would leave the ixtreme on there as well right? I wouldn't want one to read and one to play with. Specially cause one box isn't mine

No. You'd have to flash back and forth between iXtreme and 0800. You can't have both.

I have flashed a BenQ with 0800. But I can't seem to get windows to recognize anything. It is recognized in BIOS though. I was reading in a different post about drivers 5.20a for VIA 6421 (I am using a VIA Card), but I haven't tried them yet. Anybody had any success with the 0800 flashed to the BenQ?
