What is it that makes you think its a clone?very new box you will need to be 100% certain, because i havn't heard of cloned ex5000 on this or any other forum.

Please can someone advise me, as I am unable to download new software for my eurovox max v. I keep getting a response error message whilst downloading software to box.
I have tried using 4 different null cables from maplins, used 6 computers with both vista and xp.Have tried switching box off and then switching on whilst downloading as suggesting in other post.

check your scart lead is secure in both ends, and use the volume button on the box remote as well as the tv.

I used a usb wire with the 9 pin plug on other end , and connected to a null 9 pin lead as mentioned in the hitek post.
The com port is correct but it appears that the box is not being detected.
the cuurent systen details are:
DVB-XC Box V TDA
S/W ver1.0 STC4 April 18 2008
H/W ver 2.0t K5
Bootstrap v001
S/W build Kuro

If you can access a pc with a serial port it would be easier, then no need for the usb to serial adapter, did you get a cd with the adapter.

sorry not too clued up on technical. Whats a serial port. I used the usb port on pc/laptops to connect one end of cable to laptop. The other end has 9 pins which the null cable fits to.
have i got the correct software on at the moment, as i think that it may be due to what is loaded on at the moment.
