D2SUN v3 new to me??

I have just fitted this and it works great :) however I inserted a PAL game(backup) and it asked me to do a system update? If I do this update will it brick my WII? I have another backup game which runs fine and doesn't ask for an update? I have a on/off switch with the D2SUN v3 so could I turn the mod chip off and perform an system update then turn it on and proceed as normal or will it still brick my Wii?

i also have a d2sun v3, and also have the same concerns about updating either by game disc or by online, i've looked everywhere but can't get a clear answer, wether its safe or not, so for now i' not updating nothing.keep posting if you get any joy
