Ok so my wii is one of those really old ones that were in the first productions that now wont play DL discs, one week before SSBB coming out i had tried the DVD5 jap version and loved it, thats the one i played because i couldnt play the DVD9. Anyway a few months ago i stumble upon a guide on how to make a NTSC-US DVD5 SSBB with fully playable SSE so i go what the heck and do it. Everythings working fine until i update by mistake to 3.3 or 3.4(forget wich one) and the disc wont be read anymore. I dont do anything bout it for a bit then i look to see if there is a way downgrade turns out there was and now i have HBC and im downgraded to 3.0u I update my wiikey to 1.9s update to 3.1u using brawl cd and it STILL wont work any help PLEASE?

Since you have the homebrew channel installed use GeckoOS to boot the backup disc.

The application is only 400KB so I think your safe.

You can get it HERE.

Download the "Gecko OS 1.07b-HBC-DOL : a "quick (re)package" of 1.07b compatible with HBC beta 9" toward the bottom of the page.

Create a folder called GeckoOS and extract the above downloaded file to the GeckoOS folder (should have 3 files inside the GeckoOS folder boot.dol/icon.png/meta.xml).

Now drag the GeckoOS folder to the SD Card:/apps/ folder

Now start the Homebrew Channel then select GeckoOS in the menu and boot the backup.

Place the DVD5 backup disc (that you say will not boot) inside the Wii DVD drive.

Go to the Homebrew Channel and start GeckoOS. Now launch the game from there and it should boot.

Do this instead.

I made sure this worked on my Wii. So it all should work perfectly fine. I have a USA Wii also.

Download this file HERE

Extract the file and transfer the GeckoOS file to the apps folder.

When loading it via homebrew channel it should load perfectly fine.

It shouldn't matter. It should all work. Have no idea why your not getting the menu to launch the game.

try using this region free download HERE. Just place it in the apps folder.
