hi iwas just wondering if anyone had installed the new homebrew channel update update and if it works ok

If it didnt work ok you would be seeing dozens of people complaining that it didnt.

The fact that nobody is whining generally means that, for the most part at least, things are alright.

Also if it didn't work, then the developer wouldn't call it 1.0 now would they?

Actually, when I started up HBC beta 8 it prompted me to update to 1.0 so I did. Once I loaded it again, none of my apps were working. I didn't bother to troubleshoot it as I didn't really have the time. I just uninstalled it and re-installed beta 8. Since it's working fine for me, I'll stick to it until I have time to play around with it... [\2cents]

Beta 9 did break alot of apps but if you download the current versions of your apps you'll find that they have been updated to work with the new homebrew channel versions.
