Hi all, I have updated my Wii to 3.4, thinking that the only downside that will be done is that it blocks the Twilight Hack (I already have the Homebrew Channel installed, so blocking the TH did not affect me whatsoever). However, now I find out that because of the 3.4 update, I cannot install any WAD files. Now I want to downgrade my Wii.

But the thing is, I'm not sure how I'm going to do so safely. The below thread

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/686800

did not really give detailed instructions (unless if I'm missing something), and Wiibrew says that the downgrader released by Waninkoko is very dangerous, so I'm kind of worried. Searching the forums did not give me the answers I need (then again, I could be missing something). Plus, I've read somewhere that I cannot downgrade my 3.4 Wii, but I've yet to confirm it. My question is, is there any hope for me left?

Yes its possible to downgrade a 3.4 wii but if you just wish to regain the ability to install wads you dont have to downgrade for that. Just follow the guide here: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?s=572be6275...howtopic=112945

Thanks, but after reading the downgrading firmware procedures (there's no procedures to install WADs, but I want to downgrade so that I can use trucha-signed discs), it says that I need to open the Firmware Downgrader via the Homebrew Channel. It IS referring to the cIOS_Downgrader_v1.1 right? Or am I missing something (again)?

The section that says "wii fix guide" covers how to fix it to install wads. Its a required step to getting the downgrader working.

And yes, that is the downgrader they mean.

I installed the IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad file, but when I try to install the cIOS Fix, I get an error that says, "Installing ticket...ERROR! (ret = 2011)". I don't know what to do at this point (I did what the procedures showed me in the link I was given).

EDIT: Never mind, I got it working. Let's wait until we see how this goes...

EDIT #2: Everything works now! Thanks a lot guys!

Google "3.4 downgrade" and look out for a guide written by Emperor of Canada (EOC) - on a different site.

I used it for my 3.4U, and it worked marvels.

When I try to install the prod-wad, I get the error -2011.
I got it so much I just gave up on doing it.
How do you fix the error?
Do I have to format the wii?
